nothing major, however (at least nothing I could tell.) If you are into cpu intensive tasks, the dm1z might be a bit slower in some tasks. If you are into video/htpc, you will notice almost no difference between the dm1z and the hannspree - the dm1z will trounce the hannspree in 3d and gaming and be just as good as the hannspree in the video playback. Not bad, but it still struggles with 1080p and fullscreen flash (could have been the configuration, however.) I looked at the dm1z and it's basically like an N550 + ion. In other words, what is the reason I should spend the extra $150 for the HP if I'm using it for internet and word processing? The points I know I'm looking for include weight, battery life, screen viewability (resolution?) and running cool. It has been absolutely perfect in every way, but I'd like something a tad bigger and hopefully faster. I've had it since this model was introduced, about 3 years.

I'm currently using an Asus eee PC 10.1 with XP 1GB RAM 160 GB HD.
I do not need 3G, just using free wifi hotspots. I'm a travel organizer and private tour guide who must tote a netbook for internet access as I lead tour groups in Europe. Sadly I must tell you that I know nothing about computers except how I use them. As uber-knowledgeable computer people, could someone please give me the condensed version of a comparison between these two netbooks: Hannspree SN12E2 Pentium Dual-Core ULV SU4100 1.3GHz 2GB 320GB 12.1" WLED Netbook Win7 Home w/Webcam & 6-Cell ($299) and the HP dm1z AMD E-350 Fusion APU 3GB RAM 320 GB HD WIN7 ($449).
